Sideswipe G1- Repaint from a 1982 Red Alert by Hikaru84 Sideswipe G1- Repaint from a 1982 Red Alert by Hikaru84
I bought the Red Alert transformer on the bottom of the image at a very good price just to restore it to it's original state, but I wanted a Sideswipe. I had to polish very carefully the clear plastic from the windshield and windows as it was heavily scratched and I printed decals for the Autobot logo.
It was a lot of fun, I am now looking for other G1 Transformers to restore!

How did you get the siren lights off?

Well, they were attached to the roof by two little pegs that that showed off from beneath the roof, they were melted and deformed from factory to avoid the siren to get off. I just cut the melted plastic and the siren just fell. Two little cylindrical holes were left in the black section of the roof of the car and I used putty to make them disappear.
